Top 5 wednesday

It’s been so long since we’ve done a Top 5 Wednesday. We’ve had a super busy year so far but this topic is just so good that we couldn’t pass it up.

So today we’ll be telling you about 5 books that you should be going in blindly because they are just THAT good.

#1 The Book Thief

If you’ve read this book then you know exactly why it’s on this list.

All you need to know is that this is a historical fiction set in Nazi Germany that will tear you apart.

#2 The Raven Cycle

This is sort of cheating because it’s a 4 book series and not a single book but if you read the first book i.e. The Raven Boys then you’ll definitely be hooked.

All you need to know is that this book has four beautiful boys, a girl we all aspire to be and a magical forest.

#3 The Final Empire

Yet another fantasy series! If you have been following us for a while then you know just how much we love Brandon Sanderson and Mistborn is definitely his best series ever. We have just read the first book i.e. The Final Empire, but we already know we will love it all.

All you need to know is that this book follows the storyline of how a world would turn out if the bad guy won and it’s got an epic heist. (Click here to read our review of it!)

#4 Holding up the Universe

A contemporary fiction for a change. A book that made me cry happy tears and restored my faith in humanity.

All you need to know is that this book has a cute boy, a cute girl, and a story that will sweep you off the ground (Click here to read our review of it!)

#5 The Thing about Jellyfish

A middle grade contemporary. The most beautiful book ever written that talks about topics most books shy away from.

All you need to know is that this book will make you cherish your best friends.

And that’s all! It was really hard to not include Harry Potter and Percy Jackson but they are super well loved anyway and we wanted to include the most recent ones we had read instead.

Did you participate in this weeks Top 5 Wednesday? If yes, leave a link to your post down below! And do let us know what you think about our list.

  1. The blurbs for The Raven Cycle NEVER do it justice anyway right?!? IT’S JUST TOO GLORIOUS. Also “four beautiful boys and a girl we all aspire to be” is like legit the best pitch ever.😂 I approve.

  2. Everything you’ve said about The Raven Cycle is true. The moment I read the first, I was hooked. I had to just download them back to back as soon as I finished them. Then came the googling pictures of artists’ renditions of them. My favorite is still this picture of Ronan with a grumpy face and flower crown ♥

      • OMG that book…she managed to write a book about rich, pretty boys and not make it about rich, pretty boys. She wrote a book about psychics and didn’t make it trite. She wrote about someone who’d be a manic pixie dream girl in any other setting and made her NOT. She pretty much took all of the tropiest tropes and said not today to any of the cliches associated with them, and I honestly have no clue how she did it ♥

    • Yay Book Thief buddy! I really hope you get around to reading (and hopefully loving) The Raven Cycle, I’m trying really hard to not hype it up because then it disappoints so just ya know… go in blind 😛
