Top 5 Wednesday: Books you’ve read because of Bookstagram/Blogging, etc.

Top 5 wednesday

Today’s topic is also a super interesting one because we never really realize just HOW much we are influenced by the people around us, especially with the internet. There are numerous ways that news of some book or so gets to us and before we know it, we’ve read it and joined a cult.

So today we will be sharing with you guys 5 of our favourite books that we read because we saw someone else raving about it.

Brandon Sanderson was an author that we had not even heard about just a year and a half ago, but when Raven joined a Goodreads book club called Dragons & Jetpacks, they just wouldn’t shut up about how awesome he was! So we thought oh well, he will be coming to the litfest next year so we might as well try it out and boy oh boy are we glad!

Now WE are huge fans and just can’t shut up about him.

#2 A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E.Schwab

V.E. Schwab is ALL over the internet. She is on every booktuber, book blogger and bookstagrammers list and I can finally say that yes! I have read this series and I absolutely love it. I was afraid that it would turn out to be a disappointing read because most YA novels usually turn us off, but this was just perfect.

Now you guys, please force Beez to read it too because my persuasion powers are falling short! Also, a review on this beauty will be going live soon so make sure to keep an eye out for it.

#3 Saga by Brian K. Vaughan & Fiona Staples

This graphic novel series is just so beautiful! And after seeing every booktuber go crazy buying them, I thought it was finally time I gave it a try and, no surprise here, I’m in love. Hopefully, a review will be out soon!

#4 Holding up the Universe by Jennifer Niven

After seeing a gazillion people rave and cry about how amazing this book was on Bookstagram, I was able to get my hands on a NetGalley copy and I can safely say that yes, I raved and cried about it too. (You can find my review of it here!)

#5 And I Darken by Kiersten White

I first heard about this book from @Paperfury, she wrote such an awesome review of it and the stabbiness of the book just inspired me so much that I had to pick it up. And of course, keeping with the theme of how things have turned out, it did not disappoint. (Read my review here!)

In fact, I recently finished reading book 2 of this series so look forward to my review on that!

And that’s all! If you participated in todays Top 5 Wednesday then don’t forget to leave a link to your post down below, and do tell us what you thought about our list!
