I Dare You #Booktag

I Dare you

We decided to do this book tag after the fabtastic @Paperfury did it over at her blog. Go check out her blog if you haven’t already!

1. WHAT BOOK HAS BEEN ON YOUR SHELVES THE LONGEST?

Raven: I had to look at my goodreads shelf for this and apparently Son of Sobek by Rick Riordan has been on my shelf since January 4, 2014…

Beez: *Denial*

2. What is your current read, your last read, and the book you’ll read next?

Raven: My current read is The Guns Above by Robyn Bennis, my last read was Endless Night by Agatha Christie, and I think I might read Esper Files: The Sky Cult by Egan Brass next.

Beez: Currently reading- 50 books none of which I remember, last read I remember- Skippy dies by Paul Murray, next- none. (because I killed Skippy and they’re going to find me from under the 50 books I’m currently reading.)

3. WHAT BOOK DID EVERYONE LIKE, BUT YOU HATED?

Raven: I’m can’t name one because

Beez: No book is liked by everyone.

4. WHAT BOOK DO YOU KEEP TELLING YOURSELF YOU’LL READ, BUT YOU PROBABLY WON’T?

Raven: Oh wow… I probably won’t end up reading all of the 586 books on my Goodreads shelf. And no that number is not a joke.

{Beez: Mine is more than a 1000!!!! I’m not crying what is all this water??!?

Raven: She is not lying you guys. She has 1,086 books on her to-read shelf on GR}

Beez: All of them.

5. WHICH BOOK ARE YOU SAVING FOR RETIREMENT?

Raven: *See below*

Beez: None because I’m dying soon and I’m not even working full time yet.

6. LAST PAGE: DO YOU READ IT FIRST OR WAIT TO THE END?

Raven: Only monsters read the last page first and while I am a monster, I can’t stoop to that level.

Beez: I don’t know, what do you do?! *frustrated* Even if I did read the last page first, it wouldn’t make much sense or have any impact BEFORE the book. What’s the point mate?

Internal Screaming

7. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: ARE THEY A WASTE OF PAPER AND INK OR INTERESTING?

Raven: Acknowledgements let me know humans made the beauty that I hold in my hands.

Beez: NO THEY’RE LOVELY.

8. WHICH BOOK CHARACTER WOULD YOU SWITCH PLACES WITH?

Raven: Blue Sargent because of dem bois and also the latin speaking trees, the magic and the psychic powers but mostly da bois.

Beez: All of them. (Really, I read mostly realistic and this is very hard to answer. I would love to be in Giant days. I would also love to be rich. But yes The Raven boys. Wait I think the question was something else.)

9. DO YOU HAVE A BOOK THAT REMINDS YOU OF SOMETHING SPECIFIC IN YOUR LIFE?

Raven: I read Stay where you are and then leave by John Boyne at a time when I was going through a lot of shit so that book holds a very important place in my heart. I remember putting the book down and just crying my heart out for this one character because I could feel his pain and sadness at such a spiritual level. You can read my review of it here… Wait is that what the question meant?

Beez: I choose Split Second by Kasie West for this one. It was around exam time (which was always) in my last two years of high school. I finished it at midnight and was sobbing heavily for some reason and texting Raven. My hair was wet and I had my wet towel around me and I fell asleep like that, with tear stained cheeks, setting up for a nostalgic moment for years to come, tied up in wet hair, towel, sweat and tears, floating high up from all that kept me tied.

10. NAME A BOOK THAT YOU ACQUIRED IN AN INTERESTING WAY.

Raven: Once I went to some guy’s house because he was selling his books for a very cheap price. I went to get only 2 books for Beez but came back home with a screenplay which he gave me for free, two Enid Blyton books for 1 buck each and two books about the mafia…

Beez: Oh man I once saw a book sitting on the bars of a staircase at the train station while I was in the train! But I didn’t get that book so I don’t know why I mentioned it.

11. HAVE YOU EVER GIVEN AWAY A BOOK FOR A SPECIAL REASON TO A SPECIAL PERSON?

Raven: I gave Landline to Beez because she is the shit in my life. (Beez: And I gave Stay where you are and then leave to Raven!!!)

Beez: Yes that is the point of my existence don’t you know.

12. WHICH BOOK HAS BEEN WITH YOU THE MOST PLACES?

Raven: Beez’s copy of The thing about Jellyfish traveled with me to Austria last year but that’s about it.

Beez: Can’t remember but I read on ebook so.

13. ANY “REQUIRED READING” YOU HATED IN HIGH SCHOOL THAT WASN’T SO BAD TWO YEARS LATER?

Raven: Silas Marner was a pain in my behind in school so I ain’t picking that shit up ever.

Beez: I’m still in school sorry.

Raven: And no Beez, you’re what the lore says, an adult, now.

14. USED OR BRAND NEW?

Raven: While I love going into a bookstore filled with new books, used bookstores are where my money flies.

Beez: Used. How am I still so poor?

15. HAVE YOU EVER READ A DAN BROWN BOOK?

Raven: I have read two, Angels and Demons and The Da vinci code. Both I read when I was only 14 and I really enjoyed them. Inferno is waiting on my shelf right now. (I bought it for just 5 bucks from The Old library and it’s hardcover!)

Beez: Stop making me feel lesser than thou, no.

whut whut

16. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A MOVIE THAT YOU LIKED MORE THAN THE BOOK?

Raven: The Maze Runner.

Beez: All of them. (Raven: PERCY JACKSON TOO??)

17. A BOOK THAT’S MADE YOU HUNGRY?

Raven: Percy Jackson.

Beez: Enid Blyton you bitch.

ADORABLE!!18. WHO IS THE PERSON WHOSE BOOK ADVICE YOU’LL ALWAYS TAKE?

Raven: The below

Beez: The above^

19. MOST READ AUTHORS?

Raven: Rick Riordan. I’ve read 20 of his books. Next might be J.K.Rowling with 11.

Beez: I don’t want to find out this answer and hate myself and/or be disappointed in myself also how do I find out??

20. SHIP FROM TWO DIFFERENT BOOKS?

Raven: I got none.

Beez: Myself and Neal. (from Landline). But also no. But also, am I from a book?

  1. I’ve been meaning to read Landline for literally YEARS but just haven’t gotten around to it… come to think of it, I haven’t read a Rainbow Rowell novel in SO LONG. I need to fix that ASAP! Great tag 🙂

  2. Thank you so much for the tag! 😀 This looks like a lot of fun to do. I enjoyed reading through it. My best friend actually said the same thing before about liking The Maze Runner movie better than the book. She said they stuck pretty well to the book but cut out all the “boring” stuff. lol

  3. Hi there!
Oh, I think Blue Sargent is one of the coolest girls out there. I’d want to be her, just to hang out with her family, and her mother’s boyfriend who is, you know…different.
